What is Calvary Chapel?

Calvary Chapel is not a denominational church, nor are we opposed to denominations, as such, only their over-emphasis of the doctrinal differences that have led to the division of the body of Christ.

Each Calvary Chapel is formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is His (Agape) love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we cannot claim ourselves as Christians.

Feeding the flock of God consistently and accurately teaching His Word is the primary focus of Calvary Chapel. It is also our main belief concerning evangelism, that “healthy sheep beget healthy sheep” and that as God’s people are fed the Word, they will ‘naturally’ lead others to Christ.

Why we are here?

Pat and Cindy Viray are obeying God’s calling to plant a Bible-teaching, Bible-believing church in Pat’s hometown of Masantol, Pampanga. They were sent by their home church in California, Calvary Chapel Monterey Bay.

It is their desire to teach the Word so that the people will believe in and study God’s Word and live their lives devoted to serving and pleasing God, trusting in the Lord Jesus Christ, the author and finisher of our faith.

“but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever.” 2 Peter 3:18

Pat and Cindy are thankful and blessed to be living in Masantol and have a desire to be a blessing to all the people (adults, youth, and children) in helping them grow in Christ and to love and encourage one another.

“Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another.” Romans 12:10-16a
